Your Role as an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer
As an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer at WestJet, you'll be responsible for the daily maintenance and safety of our diverse fleet, including Boeing 737, 737 MAX, 787, and De Havilland Dash 8-400 (Q400) aircraft. Your expertise will ensure that every flight operates smoothly and safely, keeping the WestJet promise to our customers.
What You Need to Succeed
To join our team, you’ll need:
• A Valid Transport Canada Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Licence (M2 Preferred).
• At Least Two Years of Experience with Boeing 737, 787, or Q400 Aircraft.
• A Strong Technical Aptitude and Proven Experience in Airframe and Powerplant Maintenance.
• Legal Eligibility to Work in Canada.
Physical Stamina to Meet the Demands of the Job.
• Willingness to Work in Varied Environmental Conditions and Shifts.
In addition to meeting these qualifications, successful candidates will possess strong computer skills and a commitment to safety.
Successful Candidates Will Also Meet the Following:
• Education: Technical Aviation diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution.
• Security Clearance: Must obtain and maintain a Restricted Area Identification Card (RAIC) issued by Transport Canada, along with a valid unrestricted Driver’s Licence.
• Health and Safety: Ability to pass pre-employment testing, including a medical exam and drug screening (alcohol, psychoactive substances, illicit drugs, and cannabis).
